Summer Training

During the summer the Air Cadet Program offers summer training courses to cadets. There are a number of different courses ranging in duration from one to six weeks for which cadets can apply if qualified. Senior courses can apply for employment during summer training CTC’s once they are 16 years of age.

There are plenty of choices so cadets should discuss their possibilities with staff early to help ensure a successful career path. Below is the official brochure for Air Cadet Summer Training.

The Squadron is only allocated a limited number of slots by the regional office so not all cadets can attend Summer Training. Cadets with good attendance and a desire to learn are recommended by staff.

Gliding / Flying Training Courses
Royal Canadian Air Cadet awards glider and power flying training opportunities to qualifying cadets every year. Senior cadets have the opportunity to apply for these courses and spend the summer months training towards the Glider Pilot License and Private Pilot License.
Cadets need to be 16 years of age to hold a Glider Pilot License and 17 years of age to hold a Private Pilot License. To qualify for gliding and flying courses, each cadet must take the Air Cadet Ground School Program. Cadet wishing to compete in the Glider/Power Pilot Training Process must make their intentions know to the Training Officer in September each year.
